LEARNING 2, Vietnam

Learning 2, SSIS, Vietnam 2016

Thank you so much for joining my workshop MOTIVATE, MANIPULATE AND MASH. I hope you will leave with many practical ideas to take back to your classroom.

Here is a video which captures how we use the iPads in the art room from app mashing, manipulating, reflecting, presenting, analyzing, peer feedback, to stop motion.

The creative possibilities are endless!

  • iPad Gallery This page began last year, since I received my iPad cart. We use iPads daily. On this site you will see current projects, student work samples and a brief explanation of each task.
  • iPad Research This explains my personal research into apps and the use of iPads in the classroom starting in 2012, Ghana.
  • One of my all-time favourite iPad resources: iPad Artroom by Cathy Hunt.
  • One of my favourite courses iPads in the Art Room by The Art of Ed.

Let’s Begin

Wordfoto can be used by itself but by introducing manipulation and editing apps you are allowing the students to be creative whilst helping them analyze and apply their knowledge. By REMIXING– copying and transforming images you are able to “legally steal” from the Internet based on the law of fair use.

If in doubt then the BEST “legal image source” I have found is: CREATIVE COMMONS and the easiest way to attribute images is with the attribution helper.

  1. Hi there, that is very sweet that you are seeing the connection as you will see iPad Art room is number one on my resources list. I was actually using these apps a long time before I attended her workshop in Hong Kong. I love what Cathy does but I had developed these ideas before I met her and my website was actually featured on her resources which was very sweet. My take away from hers was the stop motions and Megaphoto. They were completely new to me. I actually did a 4 week course with The Art of Ed a few years before I ever found her website. That course introduced me to many of these ideas in 2013. You can see my development on my iPad research page: https://rjardin.wordpress.com/technology-in-art-2/
I am honestly very flattered to be compared to iPad art room because she is my guru. We have just developed our ideas differently. You can see how I have applied mine on: https://rjardin.wordpress.com/ipad-gallery/. It’s my absolute dream to present with her one day.
